Envisioning a place that protects our most vulnerable children...
Where our response to the abuse of a child places the welfare of the child first
Where we work to meet the needs of children and their non-offending families with sensitivity and competent care
Where there is a safe place for children to feel comfortable and protected talking about all kinds of things
Where our team of staff and professionals do everything possible to prevent re-traumatizing a child
Where our vision includes compassionate care, competent advocacy, and referrals to the most appropriate services for children and families
Where the team members that serve the children maintain open communication with one another and coordinate their work, sharing their professional skills, training, and expertise to ensure the very best care
Where we are committed to coordinating and tracking investigative, prosecutorial, child protection, advocacy, and treatment efforts so that a child's case does not "fall through the cracks"

LEFT: The Children's Protection Center
on the campus of Arkansas Children's Hospital just off Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Interstate 630.
The center opened in July 2007 serving as a child-friendly place for law enforcement to interview alleged victims of child abuse.
In 2008, the center hired its first full time Forensic Interviewer through a grant from the UAMS Commission on Child Abuse, Rape, and Domestic Violence. So far in 2009 the Center has conducted over 200 forensic interviews with children.
Referrals to the Children's Protection Center are initiated via the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline and the investigating law enforcement agency.
